Milk Education is currently recruiting for Learning Mentors to work in secondary schools across the region. This rewarding role is perfect for individuals who want to make a positive difference in the lives of students who may need extra guidance, encouragement, and academic or emotional support.
Whether you’re a recent graduate, an aspiring teacher, or someone with a background in youth work or pastoral care — this could be your ideal next step into education.
What does a Learning Mentor do?
You’ll work one-to-one or in small groups with students who may be struggling academically, emotionally, or behaviourally. Your role is to build trust, offer consistent support, and help them overcome barriers to learning — both inside and outside the classroom.
You’ll be helping with:

Boosting confidence, motivation, and engagement in lessons

Supporting with behaviour and emotional regulation
-
Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult

Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Helping students develop coping strategies and life skills
We’re looking for people who are:

Passionate about supporting young people

Confident, patient, and great at building relationships

Comfortable working in a secondary school setting

Experienced in youth work, mentoring, education, or similar (bonus but not essential)

Resilient and ready to step into a role where no two days are the same
Perfect for:

Psychology, sociology, criminology, or education graduates

Aspiring teachers or youth workers

Anyone with experience supporting teenagers in any capacity
