BSL Teaching Assistant
Milk Education are working with a primary school in L28 who are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 7 who has Autism and is deaf.
This role is starting after the Easter break and will be a long-term role.
The School are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30am- 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.
The right candidate must have BSL Level 2 at least.
This Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensure the child’s needs are being met.
Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
- Deliver catch-up sessions
Teaching Assistant Level- Non-negotiables:
- Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
- BSL Level 2
- Must have a passion for education
- Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
